Wedding photography at Rushpool Hall

Nicola & Stew

Rushpool Hall, Saltburn

We first met Nicola & Stew at Rachel and Gavins wedding at Gisborough Hall last year when Nicola was a bridesmaid for her friend. She watched us at work and saw our images on the projector and instantly decided we wanted to book us for her wedding photography at Rushpool Hall in Saltburn, and booked the next day!

Getting Ready
Nicola had stayed at the hotel the night before and was getting ready at the hotel with her family and bridesmaids. When we arrived the makeup artist was expertly applying the bride’s make up and the hairdresser was curling Maisie’s (the couple’s daughter) hair. The others had their hair done too so everyone looked glam for the day!

Nicolas hair was styled into a stunning updo and the bridesmaids were starting to get emotional and excited! Even Maisie had a bit of make up on and looked super cute. The girls all had matching striped pyjamas so we grabbed a few shots of them together. Matching PJs for getting ready in the morning is a great look for the photos- good choice girls!

Meanwhile Nick went downstairs to grab some shots of the groomsmen all together getting themselves ready for the ceremony- we loved their blue suits! This is definitely the up and coming trend for suits.

Nicola had a beautiful dress to wear and was looking forward to putting it on. The bridesmaids were dressed in their pastel green dresses and Maisie was in her pretty flower girl dress. Nicolas nephew arrived suited and booted and looked fab too.
With everyone dressed and the brides veil and garter added everyone was ready to go- it had been a bit of a rush at the end but it’s a bride’s prerogative to be a little late right?!

The Ceremony
Nicola’s grandparents are very special to her and she had Grandad on her arm to walk her down the aisle. He looked fit to burst with pride.
The bridal procession entered the room and the kids went first followed by the bridesmaids in twos, then Nicola with Grandad.

Stew was looking forward to seeing his bride and had being doing well for not looking too nervous!
The registrar went through the ceremony and the couple made their wedding vows to each other, and then exchanged their wedding rings. As they were pronounced husband and wife the groom could now kiss his new wife! After the formalities of signing the register were finished they left the room newly married as Mr & Mrs Bell.

The Formals and Romantic Couples Photographs
After the ceremony there was a drinks reception for all the guests with champagne and bottles of corona all round. Everyone made their way over to the steps for a big group photo of everyone together. We then worked through a list the couple had given us of their family formal photos they wanted captured, we try and get through these in a short time so guests don’t get bored!

The guests headed back in to relax at the bar before the meal and we stole the couple away for a short while for some romantic couple’s photographs throughout the pretty grounds. We didn’t need to go far as the hotel is set in stunning surroundings, and you can even see peacocks roaming the grounds!

The couple did a brilliant job having their pictures taken and had a lot of fun. We have to commend Nicola on her ‘lean back’ pose as we are sure she has set a new record in how far she leant back, clearly having total trust in Stew not to drop her!

They make a beautiful couple and you can see they love each other deeply and are very proud of their little girl Maisie- who also joined in for a couple of mother and daughter photos with our cute matching parasols. Don’t they look great!

The Speeches
It was time to head back to the reception room for everyone to get ready for their wedding breakfast. The room had been transformed from the ceremony and looked amazing. There were gorgeous centrepieces, favours and all the main bridal party had personalised glitter glasses the couple had organised which was a lovely touch.
The couple greeted guests as they came into the room with a receiving line and everyone took their seats for the meal to be served.

We then took a break to let everyone enjoy their food and we got to work on a selection of the images from the day so far so they could be ready to go up on our projector for the evening reception guests to see! We love our Image Projector service as it’s a wonderful way to include evening guests in everything that happened during the day time and a great talking point for guests too, as well as giving the Bride and Groom a sneaky peak at what’s to come!

After the meal the speeches began. Nicolas Granddad went first and told some funny stories about her as a child and said how proud he was of her and his granddaughter Maisie. Stew is a big fishing fan and there was even a joke about his fishing skills finished off with Granddad presenting him with his own toy fish! Stew was next to go and gave a short heart felt speech with thanks to everyone involved, then it was time for the best man! We knew he had been a little nervous about the speech but we have to say he did a great job- had had nice bits and funny bits and everyone enjoyed it!

A bit of extra fun!
After the meal we had a little gap before the evening do began so spent a bit more time couple using the gorgeous vintage telephone for a few shots, and then spent a bit of time with the bridesmaids having some fun shots with our popular white sunglasses. This caused a lot of fun and laughter with everyone getting their pout on! For the gap there was also a sweetie table set up and some casino games! Everyone had a go at a ‘bet’ with the winner at the end getting a prize. This was a lot of fun for guests and a great way to fill the gap!

Party time!
The room had been transformed for the night time celebrations with added tables, centre pieces and the projector set up. We also had our PropStudio set up in a cute little alcove for some fun photos which everyone had a whale of a time with!
Mr and Mrs Bell hit the dance floor for their first married dance together and then Nicola had a dance with her mum which was lovely to see and had everyone a little emotional!
After the dances were over everyone hit the dance floor for a good party and the party was still in full swing when we left! There was definitely going to be some sore heads in the morning!

Overall it was a wonderful day for everyone and we had fabulous time as well, it’s such a stunning venue to work in. These guys have an beautiful set of photos from their wedding day. We hope they like them as much as we do! Thanks Nicola & Stew for choosing us to photograph your beautiful fun filled day and capture those amazing memories for you to cherish for years to come. We wish you all the best for the future as husband and wife!
